The Pokemon Trading Card Game Classic is a premium box set product designed to facilitate the playing of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) in a variety of settings, emphasizing portability and ease of setup for two players. It includes a foldable game board equipped with designated areas for Active Pokémon, Benched Pokémon, the deck, discard pile, and Prize cards. Additionally, the board incorporates a central compartment capable of holding up to three decks and a toolbox containing essential accessories for gameplay.
The set features three pre-constructed decks centered around the iconic Base Set Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. These decks are complemented by a mix of classic cards and new prints, introducing strategies with cards such as Ho-Oh ex and Lugia ex. It’s important to note that, with the exception of Basic Energy cards, the cards from these decks are not permitted in official tournament play. The set is positioned as ideal for casual play, offering a static deck format that encourages gameplay among friends and family. The cards will feature a unique holofoil pattern different from the one in Celebrations.
Included within the toolbox are stackable damage counters, three-dimensional Poison and Burn markers, and metal orbs to substitute for traditional Pokémon coins. A unique feature of the toolbox is a small chute designed for the metal orbs, which serves as an innovative method for determining outcomes traditionally decided by coin flips. The Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic package comprises a foldable game board that also serves as storage, a toolbox with gameplay accessories, three Pokémon TCG decks highlighting Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, along with newly printed cards, and three deck boxes that correlate with the Energy types of the included decks.
