Sun and Moon introduced Z-Moves which Pokemon could use when they used a Z-Ring. In Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, it is replaced by the Z-Power Ring, which can use more Z-Moves than the original Z-Ring. Tomy released a physical toy of the same toy though the interesting thing was that the toy could interact with the games when the player used a Z-Move inside the game. The toy didn’t feature any bluetooth connectivity that connected it to the 3DS, so how did it work? The interesting thing is the toy used sound to work. The toy would listen for cues and then play out the animations and lights when it heard the right sound cue from the game. A very cool low-tech way of making an interactive toy.
Here’s a video that shows the animations and sounds and goes further into how the toy works.
